Havre, MT – Saturday evening the stars played the first of two doubles to end the regular season. Havre emerged victories from game one against the Royals of Fort Mcleod 10-5, and in game two Havre controlled the tightly contested match pulled away in the end winning 8-2.
The Northstars were in control the entire game to enter the seventh inning 6-1. Both the Northstars and the Royals drove home four runs in the seventh inning to give Havre the win. Tommy Lewis went four for four at the plate with 2 RBIs. Tanner DaLerosa got the win on mound.
In game two was tightly contested with Havre entering the top of the seventh only up two runs, 4-2. In the seventh Havre knocked in four runs, and the Northstar defense held the Royals to zero runs to win the game and earn the sweep 8-1.
Tyson Brandon, Tommy Lewis and Teegan Solomon all had two hits at plate. Quin Elliot got the win for the Northstars striking out nine Royals and only giving up 2 runs in 118 pitches.
The Northstars improve to 35-12-1 on the year and have a firm grasp on first place with a five game lead in north district A standings at 26-4. Havre finishes the season on the road tonight in Medicine hat against the knights, first pitch is 12p.m.
