Lockwood, MT – The opening ceremony of the 40th annual Big Sky State Games took place Friday night, July 18, hosting the lighting of the torch, the parade of athletes, the popular Montana mile, and this years new addition, the Montana 100-meter dash.
The Montana 100m fielded 9 runners including Havre High’s very own Macy Brandon. The anticipation and excitement were high at Lockwood High School stadium and the race delivered.
Macy Brandon had an excellent run clocking in at an official time of 12.62 seconds to place third in the race. Regan Torgerson, of Shelby and close friend of Brandon placed second in the race with a time of 12.55. The winner of the race came from Shepperd High’s Kaimea Dalke with a time of 12.54.
