Bozeman, MT – Wednesday, July 16, Big Sky Commissioner Tom Wistrcill announced the Scholar Athletes for each school in the Big Sky Conference. Montana State’s Tommy Mellott and Grace Gilbreth were the Bobcat Honorees.
In order to earn the prestiges honor from the Big Sky Conference, student-athletes must have used all athletic eligibility and/or part of a graduating class. Student-athletes must secure a baseline of a 3.2 Grade Point Average (GPA) or higher and have participated in the conference for at least two seasons.
On the field during his senior campaign, Tommy Mellott, earned every FCS national offensive player of the year award. In the classroom Mellott was perfect and secured a 4.0 GPA.
The Bobcat cross country, indoor and outdoor track All-Big Sky conference performer, Grace Gilbreth, earned her selection with a 3.98 GPA.
