Havre, MT – MSU-Northern Lights freshman and box Elder High school product, Tracen Jilot, is carving out a role early into the season.
Coming in as high valued recruit for Coach Huse, Jilot is proving his worth. Tracen has played in every game so far this season and on Monday at Walla Walla, had his best performance.
Jilot played 14 minutes and put up 15 points on 5-9 shooting from the field while also knocking down 4 out of 5 free throws. Jilot also corralled in three steals and committed zero turn overs.
Lights head Coach Shawn Huse spoke highly of his freshman’s performance on the road.
“He played a great game. I thought he gave the momentum we needed in both halves to get things started. He did it on both ends of the court and he just makes a lot of plays that you can’t coach, and you can’t teach. . . You know we’re not surprised we see it from him, it’s just really good to see it happen more and more in games.”
Entering the beginning of November Jillot will now get a taste for Frontier Conference basketball when the Lights travel to Great Falls Thursday, Nov. 13th. Tipoff will be at 7p.m. and you can listen on KPQX.
