Havre, MT – Havre High boys and girls basketball teams are headed to Billings for a pair of games Friday and Saturday.
Both teams will take on Lockwood Friday and Laurel on Saturday.
Head coach of the Blue Pony boys, Walynn Burgess said his team is focused on themselves heading into the weekend.
“We’re focused on us and how we are getting better before this Christmas break. That’s our main focus right now is just worrying about us and how we can control our controllables.” Coach Burgess said regarding where his teams focus is.
The Havre boys are led into the weekend by senior Dax Oswalt, who scored 21 points in their season opener.
The Blue Pony girls are coming off a 40-point win with four double digit scores in their season opener and are looking to carry that momentum as a team into Billings.
Head coach of the Blue Pony girls, Tommy Brown, said his team’s effort and playing together will be the key.
“I think they’ve got a couple games in too so they’re going to be one week better as are we. So, we’ve got to execute a little more, but I still think the effort and the playing togetherness is still the biggest key in early December games.” Coach Brown said previewing the weekend in Billings.
Friday the Blue Pony boys face Lockwood at 7:30p.m. and will Battle Laurel Saturday at 1:30P.m.
For the Blue Pony Girls they will tipoff against Lockwood at 6p.m. Friday night and play an early game verses Laurel at 12p.m. on Saturday.
