Havre, MT – Havre High girls basketball came away with two more double digit wins to improve to 3-0 on the year. Havre girls took down Lockwood Friday 72-14 and defeated Laurel 51-35 on Saturday.
Head coach of the Ponies Tommy Brown said he was of his team’s effort and focus in the pair of victories.
“Well, I’m just proud of our kid’s effort. We go down on that long trip, and we treat it as a business trip, and I thought our kids did a nice job of being focused and prepped to come out with two big wins.”
Coach brown has to shift the teams focus to play at Malta Tuesday night in a game the Brown believes will be physical.
“Malta, they are a solid team. Coach Hammond down there does a nice job. (they’re) Solid rebounding team so we’re going to really have to block off and keep them off the boards and we expect a physical game, so we got to be ready to go fight them.”
The Blue Ponies will tipoff against Malta at 6p.m. Tuesday then Head to Dillion Friday and Saturday to take on Frenchtown Friday at 4:30p.m and Bigfork Saturday at 11:30a.m.
