Havre, MT – Friday night the MSU-Northern Skylights came away with a home win over Mayville State 84-57 before falling at home on Saturday to Valley City State 78-74.
The Skylights were fully healthy Friday night against the comets but battled two injuries against the Vikings with Canzas Hisbadhorse going out in the first quarter and Maddie Williamson out for the entire game.
Head Coach of the Skylights Chris Mouat expressed post-game what his team loses with Williamson and Hisbadhorse out.
“It’s a lot of rebounds for one. Maddie is if not our best she is among our best one offensive rebounders and Canzas’s numbers say 8 or 9 a game. Injuries are tough and I’m Actually really proud of our kids tonight because we were down 0 second half, kept clawing back we just didn’t hit the big shot. It’s not for lack of effort by our kids.”
In the Absence of Hisbadhorse, Skylight forward Addie Keifer put up a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The Skylights head to Billings and Helena for battles with Rocky Mountain and Carroll College on Friday and Saturday.
