On 2/20/26 at 1502, Havre Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a trailer house on fire in the 1000 block of 2nd Street North. On arrival, Engine 1 reported smoke showing from the trailer with an occupant on scene trying to extinguish the fire. All occupants had exited the structure safely prior to HFD arrival. Crews immediately pulled a line and knocked all remaining fire down from under the trailer before checking for further extension. Once crews found that the fire did not extend into the house and fire had been stopped underneath, the house was ventilated using a fan to get the rest of the smoke out. Crews remained on scene checking for hot spots before clearing at 1642 when the scene was turned back over to the homeowner. No injuries were reported on scene to firefighters or civilians.
Off-duty personnel were called back to the station shortly after dispatch, who were held at the station for subsequent fire and ems emergencies due to the fire being knocked down quickly. This crew did respond to one fire alarm while Engine 1 was on the fire.
These colder temperatures pose a whole different set of challenges for our firefighters during fire and ems operations.
