(HELENA) – Governor Greg Gianforte joined the Montana 250th Commission and the Montana Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association on Monday, for a ceremony at the Montana State Capitol to raise an American flag as it travels the country as part of the Flag Sojourn 250 initiative.
As the country celebrates its Semiquincentennial on July 4, 2026, the National Flag Foundation (NFF) and America 250 partnered to send a single U.S. flag to every state, territory, and 26 military cemeteries in ten countries. Having completed travel to all U.S. territories and cemeteries on October 8, 2025, the flag is in its last stretch of visiting each state in the country.
