Governor Greg Gianforte Drought Response & Designation

Despite recent weather events, most of the Montana region is still under drought conditions. Governor Greg Gianforte joins New Media Broadcasters to discuss more about the USDA drought designation for North Central Montana counties.

“Any farmer can tell you we need more rain. We don’t have… we’re in a drought situation. Many counties in the state are in a drought situation, so getting this designation means we’re gonna free up resources to help our farmers. But at the end of the day, we need precipitation both for the farmers and also for wildland fires. We’re in a situation where we could have a difficult season if we don’t get the rain.”
