(Havre) – The Hill County Safe Streets For All Planning Committee held their third public meeting during the Great Northern Fair. City of Havre Public Works Director Trevor Mork explains what will be happening in the upcoming fourth public meeting.
“Our final one will be in October and that will be where we present the safety action plan manual and then hopefully get it later approved and sent off to the Federal Highway Administration so we can get our plan approved to seek those implementation funds.”
The goal of the Safety Action Plan is to create a comprehensive list of well-defined projects, programs, and innovative and cost-effective strategies aimed at improving transportation safety and accessibility. These may include intersection improvements, turn lane updates, sidewalk improvements, and more.
This process will identify, prioritize, and support securing funding for the implementation of initiatives outlined in the Safety Action Plan. Projects will be pursued incrementally as funding becomes available. A timeline for funding has not been determined.
