(Helena) – Montana Department of Transportation Director Chris Dorrington will step down on October 1st to join the private sector.Governor Greg Gianforte announced the transition on Monday, praising Dorrington as a “changemaker” who brought greater efficiency and improved customer service to state government.
Dorrington previously led the Department of Environmental Quality before taking over at MDT in June 2024. He also chaired the governor’s Housing Task Force.The governor is expected to announce a replacement in the coming weeks.
