Hunter Education Field Day for Ages 12-17

Young hunters in northeast Montana have a chance to complete their safety requirements next week. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is hosting an in-person Hunter Education Field Day in Glasgow on Friday, September 18th. The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the FWP Region 6 Headquarters on Airport Road.

This field day is mandatory for online students ages 12 to 17 to get certified. Students must complete their online hunter education course and bring their Qualifier Certificate to attend.

Instructors will cover firearm identification, safe handling, shot selection, and shoot-don’t-shoot scenarios. Depending on the weather, students may also practice blood trailing and bear awareness.

Space is limited, so advanced registration is required. You can sign up online at fwp.mt.gov or register-ed.com. For questions, call Isayara Valverde at 406-688-8805.
