CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – The final numbers from the 2019 Blaine County Fair 4-H livestock sale are in and the overall numbers were similar to last year. Blaine County Ag Extension Agent Julie Snedigar says this year they did have about five more pigs this year than in the past.
“We sold 18 market beef. Average price on those were $2.91 a pound. We sold 10 market lambs with an average price of $3.37 a pound and 43 market swine with an average price of $4 a pound.”
Snedigar says the 4-H events went well and the weather was nice.
“The beef and the market lamb stayed about the same. I think we had about five more pigs than we’ve had in the past. But the kids did a great job getting these animals ready for the Fair. 4-H stuff, everything went great. It helps when the weather is so nice. The Fair Board was amazing to work with again. Just, overall, a really fun time.”
Snedigar says that overall, the Blaine County Fair and the 4-H events were a success.
