The Havre Beneath the Streets has a new project. Jerry Waltari a board member for Havre Beneath the Streets explains that project.
“The project takes place on the west end of the Havre Beneath the Streets block. It’s right underneath the Eagles Club and it’s the sidewalk to the west of Eagles Club that’s in disrepair and our grant monies is to complete that entry under the sidewalk there with the mercantile building, the post office, the dentist office, and the auto repair shop. Probably the most important part of it is that’s the entrance for our handicapped people to get into the program. That’s one of the reasons we’ve applied so that we have an access for handicap people, and not only that, to be able to complete the tour with all of the displays that we have.”– Jerry Waltari
Currently the Beneath the Streets Board is awaiting approval for a Montana Historical Preservation Grant from The Montana Department of Commerce in order to begin the project.
