Havre Public Schools Board Meeting Recap

(Havre) — The Havre Public Schools Board of Trustees has a new member. During their regular monthly meeting Tuesday night, the board unanimously selected Brady Murphy as the district’s newest trustee.

The meeting kicked off with recognition, as Havre High School Counselor Stephanie Huse was honored with the Pony Pride Award. Lincoln-McKinley Elementary students demonstrated a traditional Native American game they learned during Native American Heritage Week.

In new business, trustees approved several action items. Among them were travel requests for the high school marching band to compete in Utah later this month, and an out-of-state trip for the Spanish Club in 2028. The board also approved first-reading policy changes, a proposed HOSA chapter, and voluntary student accident insurance plan for parents.

Superintendent Brian Gum concluded the night with updates on district enrollment and student protection, noting that the board’s annual “learning walks” event takes place next Monday.

The next school board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10th, 6:30 p.m. at Havre Middle School.
