(NMB) The American Association of Retired Persons recently awarded nearly $180,000 in funding through their Community Challenge grant program to 14 Montana organizations and groups.
State Director of AARP Tim Summers explains how these projects benefit everybody.
“We believe that if a community is age friendly, it’s friendly for all ages. What that translates to is, if you can get around your parks, your trails, your sidewalks, your community buildings in a walker, in a cane, in a wheelchair, then it’s going to be also easier to get around in a stroller, kids bike and just walking for all ages.”
Bear Paw Development, Fort Benton and Lodgepole were all awarded funds for various projects.
