Addressing Mental Health in Havre

In Montana mental health and substance abuse is an especially large problem.

According to a report by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Montana ranks higher than the national average for substance abuse as well as serious mental illness. And according to the same report only 40 percent of people who reported experiencing depression received treatment.

Angie Haas the Behavioral Health Care Coordinator at Many Rivers Whole Health in Havre has noticed many people coming in for mental health and similar services. She believes that substance abuse and mental health can be related.

“Yes, I have seen a lot of people coming in looking for services. Personally, I think that has a lot to do with the substance use that occurs in and around our community.”-Angie Haas

Many Rivers Whole Health offers a variety of services to address behavioral and mental health as well as substance abuse and more. Angie Haas explains the variety of services the Many Rivers Whole Health Offers in Havre.

“So, we offer quite a few services. There is crises intervention stabilization. We have telehealth, primary care, mental health, psyche, we also do med management, day treatment, and we work with Veterans. There is adult and youth case management. There is a variety of services, those are the basic ones that we provide in Havre.”-Angie Haas
