(Great Falls) – An investigation is underway at Malmstrom Air Force Base following the death of an airman. Officials say Airman First Class Aldo Ortiz Perez was found unresponsive on base during the early evening of November 1st.
First responders rendered aid, but Ortiz Perez was pronounced dead at the scene. He was assigned to the 341st Missile Security Forces Squadron.
The Air Force Office of Special Investigations and the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Base leadership expressed deep sadness over the loss and urged personnel needing support to contact their chain of command or base helping agencies.
