CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – The Chinook all class high school reunion started Thursday and runs through Saturday. There will be a variety of events for Sugar Beeter alumni to take in to include tours of the high school, class group photographs and much more. Heather DePriest, President of the Chinook All Class reunion says the timing for the reunion and the Blaine County Fair should make for a great week and weekend.
“The All-Class Reunion is scheduled every five years over the 4th of July weekend. So, it just happened to fall the same as the Blaine County Fair this year. And so, our event’s been scheduled for quite some time. Having them together is actually going to be a great time for everyone.”
One of the highpoints of the all class reunion will be the alumni band parade Saturday at 2 and if your forgot your instrument there is a back plan.
“People can bring their own instruments if they have them. They’re also available to check out at the high school after 12:30 PM on Saturday. We’re hopeful that we get some great participants in that, and usually it kind of comes together. And the only song you have to know is ‘On Wisconsin’, which is the Sugar Beeter song.”
This year the alumni band event will have a very special grand marshal leading the procession..
“Frank Sharples graduated from Chinook High School in 1938. And so, we’re pretty excited that he’s still around and able to participate in that. So we’re hoping that he’ll have a good time being the Grand Marshal and then everyone can wave at him in the parade.”
