A revealing assessment regarding Blaine, Hill, and Liberty counties was recently completed.
Carilla French the Executive Director for HRDC District 4 just completed the community needs assessment. She surveyed various community members to find the greatest needs within the area. Carilla shares the community needs revealed by the report.
“So, for the 2022 community needs assessment the greatest needs were identified in the following four areas, they were safe affordable housing, employment opportunities, quality affordable childcare, and access to health services.” -Carilla French
Carilla then specifies that the biggest need for our area is housing.
“So, the biggest need identified for the community as a whole was safe affordable housing. There’s an overall lack of affordable housing in our service area.” -Carilla French
Now that the assessment has been completed Carilla explains what’s next.
“So, for HRDC the next steps will be to share the information with the community and with our community partners and see how we can use it to help develop a plan to help the community move forward and help lift individuals out of poverty.” -Carilla French
