Area Athletes Qualify for National High School Rodeo Finals

(Kalispell) – The Montana State High School Rodeo finals concluded on Saturday Afternoon in Kalispell and several North Central Montana Athletes have qualified for the National High School Finals in Wyoming next month. The Top four finishers in each event qualify for nationals.

Wace Williams of Browning finished 4th in Bareback riding. Steer Wrestling sees the area sending two national qualifiers in Tike Erickson of Hobson who placed 2nd and Teagen Arnold of Conrad who finished 4th. Saddle Bronc Riding sees two Browning Athletes heading to nationals. Randon Boyce placed second and Tahj Wells finished 4th. Josephine Michael of Cut Bank finished third in Breakaway Roping. In the Championship Round of Goat Tying, future MSU-Northern cowgirl Cassie Gibson finished second in a time of 7.04 seconds, but no area athletes will represent our area in Goat Tying at the High School National Rodeo. Two teams for the area are going to nationals in Team Roping, with Charlie and JP Cornwell of Glasgow finishing second and Ali and Tike Erickson of Hobson finished 3rd. The Final Qualifier from North Central Montana is Tahj Wells of Browning who placed first in Bull riding.

The National High School Rodeo finals take place July 13th through 19th in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
