Barley Conference to Take Place in Conrad February 22nd

CONRAD, Mont. (NMB) – MSU-Extension has announced that the Golden Triangle Barley Conference will take place in Conrad on Tuesday, February 22nd.

According to a press release, this event occurs every three years and features some of the industry’s top professionals.

The meeting will be held at the Pondera Shooting Sports Complex, located at 972 Granite Road, from 8:45 AM to 4 PM, with registration starting at 8 AM.

Speakers will present on topics such as successful crop rotations using barley, an update on barley varieties and research, and research results on barley sprouting.

The Montana Wheat and Barley Committee will update producers on North America barley supply and demand, while Arin Peters of the NOAA will provide a weather outlook, and Montana Department of Agriculture Attorney Cort Jensen will cover a variety of topics.

The day will conclude with a malting barley industry panel featuring representatives from AB-InBev, Molson Coors, Malteurop and Central Crop Consulting.

Snacks and refreshments will be available.

Private and commercial pesticide applicator credits will be available.

Operations are asked to limit themselves to two representatives, and everyone must RSVP in advance.
