HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – On Saturday, Bear Paw Ski Bowl south of Havre will open for the season.
Dave Martens Sr. says the volunteer-run ski hill will be open from 10:30 AM to 4 PM on Saturday and Sunday. However, he warns that the top half of the mountain isn’t groomed, which could make it more dangerous for less-experienced skiers.
President of the Snowdance Ski Association Claire Stoner says Bear Paw Winter Sports shop will also be open this weekend. They will rent gear on Saturday and Sunday from 8 to 10 AM and they will be open on Sunday from 5 to 7 PM for returns.
The temperature on Saturday is also expected to drop significantly, with highs on Sunday expected to be around zero. This cold snap could last through Monday afternoon and may bring several inches of snow. Windchills during this time could reach 35 below zero.
