Havre, MT – The Havre Blue Ponies football team entered the 2026 season facing the challenge of replacing several key seniors and leaders from last year’s squad. Through the first three games, Havre has gone 0-3 as the team continues to find its footing with a younger roster.
Among the seniors lost from last season was MSU-N commit and starting quarterback Griffin Terry, leaving junior Cooper Walton with big shoes to fill at the position.
Following a bye week, Blue Ponies head coach Jake Eldridge spoke with NMB Sports about what Walton needs to focus on as he continues to develop at the position.
“He’s got to get comfortable where he’s at in the pocket. There are so many things for a quarterback that are just out of his control that he has to be able to deal with and manage,” said Eldridge.
The Blue Ponies will return to action Friday, the 25th, when they travel to Browning.
