HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Thanks to recent snowfall, the Bear Paw Ski Bowl is all set to open for the season this weekend.
Snowdance Ski Association President Claire Stoner says that the top half of the hill will be expert only due to the conditions, while it will be groomed from the midway to the bottom.
“The top is still difficult skiing conditions, so we will only allow advanced skiers to the top. And other skiers will have to get off at midway. But midway is groomed to the bottom and it is in good shape.”
Stoner says they will need the help of volunteers on Friday to haul heavy equipment and volunteers to cook at the concession stand on Saturday and Sunday in order to be operational.
Volunteers will receive a free day lift ticket. Those interested can send a message to the Bear Paw Ski Bowl Facebook page, email cgpstoner@gmail.com, or text Stoner at 781-8037.
Bear Paw Ski Bowl is planning to be open this Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 AM-4 PM. Bear Paw Winter Sports, located in the old Creative Leisure building in downtown Havre, will be open on Friday from 4-7 PM for those seeking rentals or apparel.
Rentals can be picked up Saturday or Sunday morning from 8-9:30 AM, with returns having to be dropped off between 5-6 PM.
