HARLEM, Mont. (NMB) – This year’s Harlem Seed Show will feature an FFA beef cook-off this Thursday night at 6 PM.
Harlem High School Ag teacher Kylee Urie is coordinating the cook-off and says this year’s event will be different.
“I know that they’ve done some type of cook-off on Thursday, whether that would’ve been a chili cook-off or something like that. I do believe this is the first time it’s been a beef cook-off.”
The cost to enter the competition is $10 per person and people can taste the dishes and cast their vote is $5.
“Families are welcome, everyone is welcome to come and eat. They can cast their vote on a slip. And then at the end of the night, we’ll count votes up and award a winner with a $50 gift card.”
Urie says the cook-off provides a chance for ranchers to not only show off their cooking skills, but also the quality of the meat.
“Not only do you know how to cook really well, but your animal tastes the best, is the most tender. It’s cool to see your own raised animal win stuff like this.”
