Belgrade Man Arraigned for Alleged Role in U.S. Capitol Breach

BOZEMAN, Mont. (NMB) – A Belgrade man has been arraigned in federal court after allegedly taking part in the January 6th breach of the U.S. Capitol.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports that Andrew Cavanaugh has pleaded not guilty to the crimes of entering and remaining in a restricted building, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building, violent entry and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.

He has been released on his own recognizance, but could face prison time if convicted on any of the charges.

In total, six Montanans have been arrested for their alleged roles in the January 6th breach of the U.S. Capitol.
