HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre Beneath the Streets and the Frank DeRosa Railroad Museum are decorated for the holiday season and open to the public.
Beneath the Streets Office Manager Christy Owens says through the rest of 2021, walking tours are being provided at a $5 discount from the regular ticket price.
“The tours take about 45 minutes to an hour. It gives you a chance to kind of look at things that are down there. It’s a little bit different from our regular tours – we’ve decorated it up for the holidays.”
Owens says they continue to fundraise for the project to rehabilitate the sidewalk at the end of the tour and provide handicap accessibility for the historic underground museum.
“We’re looking to hopefully hold in the spring – be on the lookout for a fundraising event that we’re hoping to hold with the Eagle’s Club again. So now that things are lifting a little bit, we’re looking to hopefully have that in the spring as well.”
The museums are open for their winter hours of 10 AM-4 PM, Monday through Saturday. They will be closed on Christmas.
There is no cost for admission into the Railroad museum.
