HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Highway Patrol reports that a 33-year-old Billings man was killed and two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in East Glacier on Saturday afternoon.
Alcohol and excessive speed are both suspected factors.
The crash occurred at 3:52 PM on US-2, when a westbound 2003 Oldsmobile Alero being driven by a 31-year-old Cut Bank woman entered East Glacier at a high rate of speed, causing the vehicle to lose control and start to slide sideways.
The Oldsmobile entered into the eastbound lane and impacted a 2021 Nissan Rogue being driven by a 73-year-old woman from Addison, Illinois head-on.
The passenger of the Oldsmobile, the Billings man, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The drivers were both transported to a local hospital. The Cut Bank woman was wearing a seatbelt, but it is unclear if the Illinois woman was.
The road was clear at the time.
