GLACIER NATIONAL PARK (NMB) – A black bear has been euthanized by rangers from Glacier National Park after it was struck by a vehicle on September 23rd.
The bear was found just east of the Rising Sun area of Going-to-the-Sun Road and had “unsurvivable traumatic injuries.”
Officials with the Park say the male bear was between 2.5 and 5 years old and was in good health prior to the incident. Injuries sustained included a broken jaw and damaged ribcage and lung area.
The person who hit the bear did not report the incident.
