CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – The Blaine County DUI Task Force, Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, and Chinook Police Department are once again working together to help provide free safe rides home this holiday season.
Blaine County Undersheriff Chris Adair says that this service is primarily for people in the Chinook and Harlem areas over the Christmas and New Years holidays.
“We just ask that it’s a reasonable distance. We don’t have a huge police force in Blaine County. We’re more than willing to give people rides home as long as it’s reasonable distance from downtown (Chinook) or Harlem.”
Adair says that the community appreciates this service, especially considering the lack of ride-sharing services or taxis on the Hi-Line.
“It’s been pretty well received. Nobody really takes advantage of it. But the people that do go out and have a few too many tend to call. The community has been really supportive of it.”
