CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – The Blaine County Health Department has reported a COVID-19 related death of a County resident, the first since late March and 34th overall since the pandemic began.
The announcement was made in a weekly case update from the Health Department. Between June 7th and 17th, they reported 16 new COVID-19 cases, one new hospitalization, and 30 recoveries.
The Blaine County Health Department sends their thoughts and condolences to the family and friends of the individual. They also urge the public to remain vigilant, as COVID-19 is still present throughout the area. They urge people to continue practicing precautions such as washing hands frequently, covering your coughs and sneezes, staying away from sick people, and staying home when sick.
The next BCHD walk-in vaccine clinic is Thursday, June 23rd from 8:30-11:30 AM and 1-4:30 PM at their office, 420A Ohio Street in Chinook. Initial doses and booster doses of Moderna, Pfizer and Pfizer Pediatric are available.
Free COVID-19 at home tests are available in several locations in Blaine County:
- Blaine County Health Department – Monday through Friday from 8 AM to noon and 1-5 PM.
- Harlem Public Library – Monday from 11 AM-7 PM, Tuesday and Friday from 9 AM-2 PM and Wednesday and Thursday from noon-6 PM.
- Big Flat Grocery – during regular business hours
