(Havre) – Fall is the time to start thinking about Firewood for your home. The Bureau of Land Management allows you to harvest your own Firewood on their lands. Rich Byron, Forester for the North Central Montana District of the BLM explains how to purchase your firewood permits.
“Folks have the availability or option to stop by one of our field offices. Lewistown, Glasgow, Malta or Havre and pick up a permit in person, or else now, they have the option to get online at www.forestproducts.blm.gov and that allows folks to pick up permits by the cord. They’re five dollars a cord and it’s pretty handy if folks live out of town.”
