The Havre Blue Ponies met up with the Beaverhead County Beavers in Dillon on Saturday.
The Beavers struck twice in the first quarter, to take a 14-0 edge. Havre began pushing back, finding the end zone in the second, leaving the game 14-7 at intermission. Another scoring punch for the Ponies early in the third quarter evened things up at 14-14. Late in the fourth, Beaverhead regained the lead on another touchdown run. The Blue Ponies answered nearly four minutes later with a touchdown of their own. The Beavers immediately responded with another score, leaving Havre 38 seconds to try to match the score again. It wasn’t in the cards for Havre, and Beaverhead left the field with a 28-21 second round playoff victory.
