After losing a clipper last weekend, the Havre Blue Ponies held on Friday night to edge over the Lockwood Lions 11-9.
Lockwood opened up scoring in the first with a field goal, to end the quarter up 3-0. Havre would respond twice in the second, starting with a 1 yard rush from Tate Nelson for the touchdown. A two point conversion would see the Ponies ahead 8-3. Havre added a 28 yard field goal before the half, to hold an 11-3 advantage.
Lockwood would find the end zone in the 4th quarter, to draw closer. A failed two point conversion left the scoreboard at 11-9 until the final buzzer.
The win puts Havre at 3-2, heading into their next contest. The East Helena Vigilantes come to Blue Pony Stadium Fri, Sept 29. Noah Friedman will bring you all the action on KOJM, with kickoff at 7pm.
