Blue Pony, Amaya Jarvis Commits to Central Washington

Havre, MT – Rising Havre High School senior, Amaya Jarvis, has committed to Central Washington University to play basketball for the Wildcats in the 2026-2027 season.

Jarvis concluded her junior season helping lead a Blue Pony squad that went 21-4 in the regular season including 8-0 in region play and a third-place finish in the MHSA state class A tournament.

Jarvis said there were multiple reasons she chose Central Washington as the place to continue her basketball journey. “I think the coaching staff and the team bring a good vibe, atmosphere, winning culture, I enjoyed my visit I went on it just felt right.” Jarvis said.

Moving far from home even to play basketball can be hard but for Jarvis there is somewhat of a familiarity about heading to Ellensburg Washington. “The town just seems like a really nice town, it’s bigger than Havre but it has a small-town vibe to it that I like.” stated Jarvis.

Jarvis led the Havre in scoring with 15.4 points per game and in rebounds with 6.8 per game, according to mthighschoolstats.com. Amaya says she is ready for another season with the Blue Ponys come November.
