Dillion, MT – Havre High Blue Ponie girls’ and boys’ basketball competed at the east west tipoff in Dillon over the weekend. It was a 2-0 trip once again for the blue pony girls and another unfortunate 0-2 trip for the Blue Pony boys.
For the girls they defeated Frenchtown Friday night 51-35. Senior Amaya Jarvis led the ponies in scoring with 16, and Ariona Gary finished with 14 points. On Saturday morning against BigFork, the Blue Pony girls were without senior Ariana Gary and junior Katie Tilleman. Late in the game Chloe Harber hit knocks down a game winning three for the Blue Ponies to pull out a 51-50 game.
On the Boys side Havre lost to Frenchtown in an uncompetitive 67-32 game Friday night. Saturday Morning the Blue Ponies fared better against BigFork but still fell 47-39.
Up next, the Blue Ponies will host Browning on January 2, for their first home games of the season.
