The Havre Blue Ponies faced off against the Malta Mustangs and M-ettes Tuesday night for duo of exciting games with neck and neck scores. On the boys side, the Blue Ponies took the lead in the first quarter with a three point buzzer beater. The Mustangs usurped the Ponies for the rest of the game until the 4th quarter when the Blue Ponies score three triples to catch up, one of which was a buzzer beater. That same buzzer beater led to a foul and an extra 3.5 seconds were added to the clock, which ended up going unused, as the clock never started! The Blue Pony Boys Team ended up getting the win 40-39.
In the girls game, the Blue Ponies sprinted forth early on scoring, outscoring Malta 23-10 in the 1st quarter. The M-ettes slowly started catching up to Havre with a few ties occurring in the 4th quarter. In the end, the Blue Ponies won 43-40. The girls team will be at Billing Central this Saturday with a 3:30pm tip-off on 610-KOJM-AM.
