Blue Pony Football Looking to Go 2-0 at Home

Havre, MT – Havre High football is 1-0 at home in their 117th season and look to stay unbeaten at Blue Pony Stadium when they welcome Browning on Friday.

Havre won their first home game prior to their bye week over Custer County 34-20 in a first half comeback and second half shutout.

Now after having two weeks of practice the Ponies are set for another home bout, this time for homecoming.

Senior defensive back for Havre, Aiden Moomey, has been an anchor in the Ponies defensive backfield. Moomey spoke to what homecoming week brings.  “Of course, it builds excitement and with it comes a little bit distraction. We really like to put a show on for all the alumni coming back and tuning in for homecoming week. . . We really have to make sure we are locked in this week.”

Being a defensive leader in the backfield, Moomey gave keys for this defense to have another great game. “Just playing with that next play mentality. You know bad plays always happen during a football game. It’s all about moving on to the next play and dwelling on that last one.” Moomey said.

“So, I think if we use our experience a little bit, I know we have a couple of new guys, but if we use our veteran experience to lead, I know that we’ll be able to not dwell on those last plays and be able to look forward till we stop them on defense this week”

Homecoming royalty will be announced prior to the National anthem. Kickoff from Blue Pony Stadium is at 7p.m. and you can listen on KOJM.
