The Chinook Friends of the Pools and Parks Foundation bond has officially passed.
The Spokesperson for the Friends of the Pools and Parks Foundation Heather Depriest explains the bond.
“We held an election back on February 14th and it was for a $750,000 bond to help with the repairs to the Chinook pool and the park project and it passed with a 70 percent majority of the voters. So, we are just more than grateful for the community for voting it in.” -Heather Depriest
Heather continues to explain what will be happening next, now that the bond has passed.
“So, the next step is the Blaine County Commissioners will be appointing a board for the newly created recreation district. Once that board is created, they will oversee the process moving forward as far as the financial aspect of it, and now we are going to be applying for some very large grants. We’re excited to apply for those and hopefully secure some additional funding for the project.”-Heather Depriest
