(Helena) – The Montana Board of Regents will convene a special meeting on Tuesday April 14th, 9am, to consider the recommendation of Dr. Jeremiah Shinn as the next President of the University of Montana.
If approved by the Regents, Shinn will receive a three year contract that begins on July 1st, 2026. His annual salary will be $467,167 a year. Benefits Shin receives if approved, are $76,875 a year in annual deferred compensation, a university owned residence, phone and vehicle allowance, and Montana University System benefit package.
Commissioner of Higher Education Clayton Christian said in a letter to the UM campus community “Dr. Shinn’s on-campus visit earlier this week affirmed our belief that he was an exceptional candidate who had, throughout the search process, repeatedly risen to the top of what we considered to be an outstanding and diverse field of applicants.”
