HAVRE, Mont. — A woman charged in connection with a 2024 double homicide in Box Elder appeared in Hill County District Court Monday.
Melody Bernard is facing two counts of felony deliberate homicide by accountability for the March 28th, 2024, deaths of Thomas Roderick Yallup and Darin Bernard Caplette.
She pleaded not guilty to both charges.
If convicted, Bernard faces life in prison and up to $50,000 in fines per count.
She remains in custody at the Chouteau County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.
Bernard is also serving time on unrelated federal drug trafficking charges.
Assistant Attorneys General John Nesbitt and Stephanie Robles are serving as special prosecutors.
A trial date has not yet been set.
