Box Elder Schools Let Out Early Thursday

(Box Elder) A release from the Box Elder Facebook Page says that schools let out early after an “incident” occurred earlier today.

In the release, the school said, “Law enforcement is involved. All precautions are being taken to ensure staff and student safety. There does not appear to be any danger to students or staff.”

School was let out at 1pm today with all busses following their normal routes.

In addition, Box Elder Schools says, “The Powwow has been postponed to a later date and ALL home athletic events have been canceled for the weekend.”

According to Undersheriff Stan Martin, the concern surrounding today’s incident at Box Elder School was concern over a hole in an individual’s car, which they had mistaken for a bullet hole.

Due to this mistake, action was taken for the safety of students.

The hole in the vehicle was reportedly an arrow hole that was created some 4 years earlier, and any perceived threat to the school was in error.
