Havre, MT – Spring has arrived and so has Blue Pony softball. Havre is coming off of a second-place finish in the Northeast A and trip to the state tournament in 2025.
However, the 2026 season may look a little different with only two seniors on the roster and four varsity returners. Head coach of the Blue Ponies, Tony Vigliotti, commented on who he has returning this spring.
“The players that really returned and played a lot for us last year, Ainsley Courtnage, Alaura Moore, Bree Hanson, and Tahlyn Olsen. Expectations for them are just to be the leaders for what’s going to be a really young team.” Vigliotti continued on what possible benefits there are to having a younger team.
“I think the young girls that we have are ready to step up. They’ve been around the game a long time. Theres three of them that are going to have to step in for sure that dressed for varsity last year. I think those young girls are ready to step up.” Coach stated.
The Blue Ponies open up the season Saturday at East Helena, against the Vigilantes and the Beavers of Dillion.
