(Browning) A Browning man who admitted to strangling his dating partner on the Backfeet Indian Reservation while under a no-contact order was sentenced to three and a half years in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release.
The defendant, 20-year-old Alphonse Trevon Bird the Fourth pled guilty in March to assault of a dating partner by strangulation and suffocation.
The feds allege in court documents that Bird and the victim were in a dating relationship, and in December of last year Bird strangled the victim after getting into an argument while in the car together.
Chief US Judge Brian M Morris presided over the case.
