BROWNING, Mont. (NMB) – One teenager was killed and two were injured following a single vehicle crash late Thursday evening on the Blackfeet Reservation.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred at 11:11 PM on Starr School Road, when an eastbound 1997 Ford F250 with three occupants traveled into a slight left curve. The vehicle then traveled off the right side of the roadway, over an approach and then rolled into a field where it struck a fence and a power pole. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels.
The three occupants, who were not wearing seatbelts, were all ejected from the vehicle.
The driver, a 19-year-old male from Browning, succumbed to his injuries. The passengers, a 16-year-old and 15-year-old female, were transported to a Hospital in Browning for treatment.
Excessive speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. Whether alcohol also played a role remains under investigation.
