Brush fire in Havre Monday morning was controlled burn says Havre Fire Department.

(Havre) Havre residents may have noticed smoke clouds near the east side of town during their morning commutes Monday morning, and those with high enough elevation may have been able to see the flames first hand.

This was a controlled burn according to Havre Fire Department, something the burners did with a burn permit which was obtained from Havre FD.

Fire engines were dispatched to the area as a precaution, said the fire department, because the burn took place very close to location on the permit but not exact, so they wanted to make sure things were under control.

Havre Fire Department says that concerned citizens are always welcome to call the fire station if they have any questions, and to never be afraid to call 911 if they aren’t sure.
