BSPRA on Benefits of Passenger Rail

(Havre) – With attention once more focusing on trains as a viable form of transportation New Media Broadcasters sat down with David Strohmair the Chairman of the Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority to talk about how passenger rail benefits communities in rural areas.

“Passenger rail contrary to what some might think is not just something that benefits larger metropolitan/urban areas but for communities that have few other great transportation options and there are many rural communities in southern Montana. This could be a real boost to communities by not only bringing in the tourists and folks from outside of our area but also providing the means of transportation for folks who might want to be doing business between communities in Montana. Also, what we’ve heard is loud and clear from folks in the health care sector that passenger rail is something that would help take for instance veterans, veterans traveling to VA clinics. Passenger rail is a mode of transportation that would benefit them.”
