HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Bullhook Community Health Center is hosting a free COVID-19 testing event for asymptomatic people July 8 from 10-2 p.m. at the Havre High School.
Bullhook Community Health Center CEO Kyndra Hall said they will conduct the drive-thru testing outside the school on Bullhook Drive by Rods Drive Inn.
“We will have two lanes open for testing and they will have to fill out just a minor demographic page and sign consent. We will have medical staff there that will perform the swabbing. They swab in each nostril, it’s a Midturbinate swab so it’s not the one that goes all the way up and back, and then they will be on their way. So, it’s quick and easy.”
Hall said getting asymptomatic people tested is important because it helps them further understand how to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Montana.
“We’re finding quite a few people that are asymptomatic that are carriers that are walking around and they’re shedding the virus and other people are getting it from them. So, this gives us a better picture of what we’re really seeing in Montana and gives us a better look at how we can help minimize the spread of the virus.”
Hall said they are asking for everyone’s patience if the lines do get long and for everyone to make sure they stay in their vehicles for the entire duration of their visit.
